For the first time, the Issa chimpanzees were nested on BACK TO BACK nights, meaning a FULL DAY follow of a single party of chimpanzees. HONGERINI (CONGRATS) to the team!!!!! Despite it being identified as hosting the largest population of chimpanzees in Tanzania, Mahale Mountains National Park has not before been systematically surveyed. Alex & Fiona will coordinate exactly that beginning in Fall 2017, having recently secured support from the Arcus Foundation!
